The Turcot Interchange redevelopment project is a major Design-Build project, involving the complete reconstruction of this road complex, including adjacent interchanges and portions of autoroutes 15, 20 and 720. This ambitious project, which has redefined mobility in Montreal, covers 75 km of equivalent lanes, with the construction of two major bridges, a rail tunnel and numerous structures and noise barriers. The project, the first in Quebec to be carbon neutral, marks a major step forward in the sustainability of transportation infrastructures.

Artelia, in partnership with ARUP, was mandated as Expert Advisor and Independent Certifier to guarantee compliance with technical and contractual requirements throughout this vast project. Our teams ensured multidisciplinary verification of the work, management of non-conformities and certification of the quality of the works, all while respecting a tight schedule. Our role involved making observations and recommendations on costs, risks and schedules, while ensuring effective coordination between the various disciplines involved.

Our innovative approach included the development of advanced inspection methods, including the use of drones to minimize traffic interruptions, as well as the implementation of web-based real-time monitoring tools, ensuring accurate, confidential and secure management of data and interventions. Thanks to these optimized tools and processes, we not only strengthened the management of non-conformities, but also maintained a high level of safety and fluidity, guaranteeing the overall efficiency and success of the project.
