After 20 years of service, the Shawinigan ecocentre had to be completely redesigned and relocated. The objective of Enercycle, the municipal organization that manages residual materials in the Mauricie region, was to make it larger, safer, more functional and more user-friendly for both citizens and employees. The new location chosen is spacious, entirely paved and includes several buildings, including one specially designed to house hazardous products. This move to an area that is more compatible with neighbouring activities has created a more adequate and secure space for operations.
Our experts provided technical expertise to Enercycle for the realization of additional studies, the design, the obtaining of ministerial authorizations as well as the production of plans and specifications for the construction of the new ecocentre. Several challenges had to be met as part of this mandate, including the presence of landslide risk areas, the presence of wetlands, the presence of clay and outcropping rock, and significant constraints on the discharge of runoff water into the receiving environment.
Driven by our values of technical excellence, proximity to clients and entrepreneurial spirit, we are more than ever determined to be a company that is useful to the world and to people, and that contributes to have a positive impact on the environment and society.
