Plage de l’Est, located in the Rivière-des-Prairies-Pointe-aux-Trembles borough, offers a unique space in eastern Montreal where citizens can gather and enjoy the banks of the St. Lawrence River. The design, the result of an architectural competition won by Ruccolo + Faubert Architectes & Ni conception architecture de paysage, includes a promenade illuminated at night, a wooden jetty extending towards the river, street furniture, a service pavilion, volleyball courts and a shelter overlooking the jetty.

Our teams were involved from the very first phase of the project, providing engineering services for the design of the storm sewer essential to the replacement of existing storm outfalls. In the second phase, we collaborated with the architects to provide expertise in hydraulics, infrastructure, structure, mechanics and electricity, enabling optimal design of the beach facilities, including the jetty and floating dock in the flood plain. In addition to its aesthetic appeal, Plage de l’Est is a testament to universal accessibility, sustainable development and the privileged connection between visitors and the river.
