As part of the implementation of a mapping of constraints exposing areas potentially exposed to landslides (ZPEGT), the Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable has entrusted Artelia with the mission of carrying out a classification of slope zones in several regions of Quebec, including St. Lawrence Valley, Outaouais and Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean. The aim of this project is to identify at-risk areas to better prevent landslide-related incidents, and to support land management in these areas.
To achieve this, Artelia’s geomatics service was tasked with producing a geospatial database containing information on specific slope areas. Based on hypsometric data and technical specifications, our specialists digitized, zoned and classified each slope zone in the regions concerned, creating a geodatabase that will serve as a reference for future analyses.
Driven by our values of technical excellence, proximity to clients and entrepreneurial spirit, we are more than ever determined to be a company that is useful to the world and to people, and that contributes to have a positive impact on the environment and society.
