To meet the environmental challenges posed by Cliffs Natural Resources’ industrial effluents in Pointe-Noire, an red water management project has been launched. The facility’s processes generate effluents containing iron particles, requiring corrective measures to protect the environment and promote sustainable development. The project includes the construction of a red water treatment plant and a sophisticated piping network, integrating pumping, treatment and water management solutions.

Mandated to design and carry out this project, our team of specialists took charge of effluent studies and analyses, as well as the development of interception and treatment plans. Our integrated approach covered the design of plans and specifications, procurement management, and construction supervision, including the installation of six pumping stations, a sewer network, and a treatment plant. We also ensured quality control, environmental monitoring and commissioning, while initiating studies for bunker reuse and contaminated soil reclamation. We’re proud to be part of a more sustainable mining transition towards responsible resource use.
