To support the region’s economic growth, the Port of Sept-Îles has launched a major project to develop a new marine infrastructure. This innovative dock is designed to significantly increase iron ore shipping capacity, enabling the simultaneous reception of ore carriers ranging from 25,000 to 350,000 tonnes for various customers. With a 600-meter deep-water approach dock and 400-meter main dock, the project integrates two ship loaders with conveyors, an enclosed double conveyor gallery, as well as an electrical substation and advanced marine equipment. This project is one of the largest port conveyors ever built, and today represents a world benchmark.
