As part of the modernization of its system, the Municipality of Saint-Adolphe-d’Howard replaced its old surface water supply system with a new groundwater supply system. This system, drawn from an aquifer near the Marsolais pond, ensures a constant supply even in periods of low flow. A dam was installed to maintain a stable level of the pond, and a booster station was added to supply the overhead areas. Raw water treatment, which is slightly acidic, includes pH adjustment and post-chlorination to ensure water quality and safety.

As part of this project, Artelia was mandated to carry out all the studies and the design of the infrastructure necessary to secure the drinking water supply. This multidisciplinary project involved several areas of expertise, such as civil engineering, water treatment processes, as well as hydraulics and geotechnics. We took care of all the stages, from the hydrological and hydraulic study to the application for authorisations from regulatory bodies, including the management of calls for tenders and the supervision of the works. Artelia’s entire internal team worked without subcontracting to offer a complete and optimized solution, allowing the municipality to benefit from a reliable and sustainable system.
