Once again this year, our experts are taking part in numerous conferences and events. We are proud to be present at major industry events such as the AMQ, ICISR and ITE conventions, the Réseau d’expertise sur le stationnement panel and the AFG AGM. This presence reminds us of our increasingly prominent place in the industry.
Artelia was a proud partner of the AMQ (Association minière du Québec) convention, held on June 5 and 6 at the Entourage sur-le-lac hotel in Quebec City. Over the course of two days, nearly 300 executives from Quebec mining companies gathered to discuss and debate the industry’s main challenges and issues. Maxime Lévesque and Daniel Laganière had many opportunities to demonstrate Artelia’s increasingly prominent role in this field. We had an excellent opportunity to showcase our skills in the mining sector.
The first ICISR (International Conference on Iron Sulfide Reactions in Concrete) congress took place from May 14 to 17, and was a success for the nearly 80 participants. Our expert Sofie Tremblay was present at the event, which aims to enable experts to exchange knowledge, inform the community and establish new standards concerning the reactions of iron sulfides (pyrite, pyrrhotite, etc.) that cause sulfation in concrete slabs.
Our experts Karla Gamboa, Amir Amini, Carole Taillé and Soufian Chaieb took part in ITE Canada’s annual conference from June 9 to 12. Held in Hamilton, Ontario this year, the event is an opportunity for hundreds of transportation professionals to meet face-to-face to exchange ideas and network. Karla Gamboa presented one of our ITS team’s most recent studies incorporating trajectories obtained using cellular data. This first participation exceeded all expectations, and the team is already looking forward to next year’s event!
Our colleague Guillaume Lefebvre was a panelist at the Réseau d’expertise sur le stationnement event, which took place under the theme “Changer ses pratiques sur l’aménagement et la gestion du stationnement” on June 11. Guillaume had the opportunity to present his unique expertise, increasingly sought after by cities, on the design and implementation of sustainable parking facilities.
On June 11, the AFG (Association des firmes de génie-conseil) held its Leaders’ Forum and AGM at the InterContinental Hotel. The Annual General Meeting took place in the morning, and Pascale Laganière had the honor of presenting the results of the actions carried out for 2023-2024 by the AFG Communications Committee, of which she is president. This was followed by the Leaders’ Forum, where executives from AFG member firms discussed current issues facing the consulting engineering industry in Quebec.
