The Haut-Richelieu MRC has commissioned our Mobility experts from the Transport and Intelligent Mobility department to draw up a municipal road safety plan. Thanks to our expertise and our use of advanced technologies, such as drones and AI, in collaboration with our experts from the Surveying and Data Acquisition department, we will be able to provide reliable analyses, quickly and efficiently.
Located in the Montérégie region, the Haut-Richelieu MRC covers a vast territory with over 125,000 residents in 14 municipalities. The complexity of managing road safety on such a vast and diverse territory calls for a methodical approach. The MRC has a number of school zones located close to numbered roads, with facilities that vary from municipality to municipality. Some of these zones already have sidewalks and safe infrastructure, while others could benefit from improvements to optimize the safety of vulnerable users. In the town of Saint-Jean-sur-Riche¬lieu, some school zones are located on busy roads, requiring special attention to ensure harmonious cohabitation between different modes of transport.
Our experts were therefore commissioned to draw up a Municipal Road Safety Plan to assess these situations, considering local characteristics and proposing appropriate adjustments to enhance safety and accessibility. The vastness of our territory and the diversity of our municipalities call for effective coordination to propose solutions adapted to each context, while ensuring regional harmonization of interventions.
The plan will include, among other things, an analysis of current road safety, with the identification of at-risk areas, analysis of accident data, and assessment of infrastructures. It will propose strategies for resolving safety problems, with measurable objectives, prioritized actions and an implementation schedule. In addition, it will make recommendations for improving infrastructure, traffic management, awareness campaigns and law enforcement.
In addition to standard surveys, the use of drones and AI could be an asset in this project. These tools are revolutionizing the way traffic surveys are taken, making data collection and analysis faster and more accurate. At the cutting edge of technology, our teams could use drones to capture high-resolution video of the behavior of all road users, while AI would analyze traffic flows, speeds and trajectories. This would enable us to identify risk areas and potential conflicts more easily.
We’re happy to put our mobility expertise at the service of municipalities, responding to their increasingly complex needs to guarantee the safety of all users.
Driven by our values of technical excellence, proximity to clients and entrepreneurial spirit, we are more than ever determined to be a company that is useful to the world and to people, and that contributes to have a positive impact on the environment and society.
