Redevelopment project of Place de l’Assemblée-Nationale in Québec City, with Artelia Canada contributing to the transformation of this iconic public space.

Artelia Canada is proud to bring its expertise to the redevelopment of Place de l’Assemblée-Nationale, one of Québec City’s most iconic public spaces. Commissioned by the Commission de la capitale nationale du Québec, our teams will support the transformation of this landmark site into a modern, sustainable public square designed to meet today’s evolving needs.

This project draws on Artelia’s multidisciplinary expertise in urban infrastructure, environmental site assessment and remediation, geotechnical engineering, surveying, data acquisition, as well as electrical engineering and lighting design. Working together, our teams will support every phase of the project, from preliminary design through to construction.

As the civic heart of Québec City, Place de l’Assemblée-Nationale hosts major cultural, community, and institutional events every year. The project aims to modernize the site by enhancing its durability, resilience, and capacity to accommodate large gatherings, while preserving its historic significance and symbolic character.
The future design will focus on high-quality public spaces, the integration of sustainable practices, the preservation of mature trees, and the creation of an accessible, safe, and welcoming environment for all. Particular attention will also be given to showcasing the site’s heritage and strengthening its connections with surrounding urban landmarks, reinforcing its role as a powerful symbol of Québec’s democratic life.

Through this major project, Artelia is helping shape a vibrant gathering space that will serve residents and visitors for decades to come, while enhancing the attractiveness and prominence of Québec City’s institutional core.

This inspiring mandate demonstrates Artelia’s ability to bring together multidisciplinary expertise to deliver sustainable infrastructure solutions and contribute to the creation of resilient, welcoming, and inspiring living environments.
