Artelia’s Engineering Structures and Road Infrastructures teams have been awarded the supervision mandate for the project to refurbish the north dock of the Vendôme commuter train station in Montreal. We will be offering our multidisciplinary services to Agence métropolitaine de transport EXO, enabling them to carry out an integrated project.
The Vendôme station, located in Montreal’s Côte-des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough, is a hub of the city’s public transit network. Inaugurated in 1981, it serves both the commuter train lines of the Agence métropolitaine de transport (AMT) and the orange line of the Montreal metro. Vendôme station is also an essential access point for patients and staff of the nearby Shriners Hospital for Children and McGill University Health Centre (MUHC). The refurbishment of this station is therefore essential to modernize and improve the existing infrastructure, with an emphasis on safety, accessibility and aesthetics.
The supervision mandate entrusted to our teams is part of a series of improvements begun in 2014 and scheduled to be completed in 2027. The work will be carried out in phases to minimize impact and maintain station services. The first 20-week phase will take place on the North-West dock, followed by the second 15-week phase on the North-East dock. The two phases will not be carried out in parallel, in order to reduce the impact on users.
Work under this mandate will include demolition and removal of the existing concrete North dock, demolition of the shelters, reconstruction of the concrete dock with the addition of a raised boarding platform, drainage improvements, installation of street furniture (bench, multi-material recycling island), electrical and IT work, landscaping and adaptation of the crossing.
This infrastructure monitoring project in an urban and railway environment presents unique challenges. Artelia has a wealth of experience to bring it to fruition, as well as being able to offer EXO all the areas of expertise needed to carry it out in an integrated fashion. Having already collaborated on numerous monitoring projects, our teams will be able to demonstrate exceptional synergy. This will ensure uniform standards of quality and excellence, whatever the disciplines involved.
We are pleased to offer EXO the services of our multidisciplinary team, ensuring a positive and collaborative working experience right through to the end of the mandate.
Driven by our values of technical excellence, proximity to clients and entrepreneurial spirit, we are more than ever determined to be a company that is useful to the world and to people, and that contributes to have a positive impact on the environment and society.
