The Portages-de-l’Outaouais School Service Center has entrusted our industrial hygiene experts with the task of inspecting materials containing asbestos in 29 school buildings throughout its territory.
The presence of asbestos in schools remains a significant public health issue, particularly in buildings constructed before the 1990s, when the use of this material was still widespread. When altered or handled without care, these materials can release microscopic fibers that are hazardous to health, especially for children and school staff. Preventive management that is rigorous and compliant with current standards is therefore essential to prevent any risk of exposure.
As part of this mandate, qualified technicians will be deployed according to an established order of priority to manage materials containing or likely to contain asbestos (ACM and MLCA), while meeting the set deadlines. Our approach aims to optimize resources by limiting travel costs and, above all, to guarantee the quality of our work, the accuracy of our field surveys, and the rigor of our reports.
For each school our team will conduct a visual inspection of ACMs to verify their condition, an inspection of ACMs (not encased or removed), identifying CMs on plans with supporting photos and reassessing the condition, accessibility, and quantity of damaged ACMs in the building to determine the corrective work required.
This mandate highlights our recognized expertise in occupational health, particularly in the management of ACMs and MLCA for mold and other contaminants, consolidating our position as a trusted provider in the field.
Driven by our values of technical excellence, proximity to clients and entrepreneurial spirit, we are more than ever determined to be a company that is useful to the world and to people, and that contributes to have a positive impact on the environment and society.
