As part of its commitment to modernizing the urban mobility management network, the City of Montreal has undertaken a project to connect over 260 traffic light systems to the Urban Mobility Management Center (CGMU) via a fiber optic telecommunication network. This initiative will improve the communication and synchronization of traffic lights, contributing to a smoother flow of traffic and more efficient management of Montreal’s road network.

Commissioned by the Arterial Network Exploitation Division (DERA), Artelia was responsible for the design, layout and field supervision for the deployment of the intelligent transport system (ITS) cabinets and switches. Our experts drew up the detailed plans for the fiber optic network, ensuring an efficient connection between the equipment and the existing network. Thanks to rigorous supervision, we guaranteed the smooth implementation of the work, meeting the City’s technical requirements while adhering to the project’s short deadlines.
