The project involved the construction of the new Nantes University Hospital, a major complex comprising 13 buildings covering a total area of over 225,000 m². This state-of-the-art complex was designed to accommodate a large number of beds and patient spaces, including critical care units, as well as operating rooms, medical imaging suites, and laboratories, meeting the highest standards in care, research, and education.

Artelia was involved in the design phase with an integrated approach covering all technical disciplines. The teams provided project management as well as expertise in mechanical, plumbing, and medical gas systems; electrical engineering; structural engineering; and exterior landscaping. Services also included fire safety, BIM management, sustainable engineering, and cost estimation. This multidisciplinary contribution optimized the project’s overall performance, ensured system consistency, and met the high standards required for a hospital facility of this scale.
