The Municipality of Sainte-Julienne, in full urban expansion, was faced with a drinking water production system whose capacity was insufficient to meet the growing demand. With an urgent need to increase the groundwater extraction flow, the goal was to ensure a reliable and sustainable supply while optimizing water treatment costs. The project aimed to identify the potential of the local aquifer and propose solutions to increase water extraction while reducing the load on existing equipment.
Artelia was mandated to carry out a comprehensive hydrogeological study, which made it possible to locate new boreholes in strategic geological formations. After pumping tests were carried out, a well was selected for its excellent water quality and flow rate of 600 l/min, providing a sustainable solution to reduce the need for costly manganese treatment. We also carried out a pre-engineering study to define and cost the work required to connect this new well to the existing water production plant. This project contributes to the sustainability of the drinking water supply while supporting the future growth of the municipality.
Driven by our values of technical excellence, proximity to clients and entrepreneurial spirit, we are more than ever determined to be a company that is useful to the world and to people, and that contributes to have a positive impact on the environment and society.
