As part of an industrial redevelopment project supported by the Climat-Sol Plus program, the City of Sainte-Marie has undertaken the environmental remediation of the southern sector of the former EACOM factory site, which operated as a sawmill between 1972 and 1985. The activities carried out at the time involved the use of wood residues (chips, sawdust, wood debris) as fill, which today compromises the stability and safety of the site.
Commissioned to supervise the work, our team deployed a rigorous approach adapted to the changing conditions of the site. Our services covered continuous environmental monitoring, tracking of biogas related to the degradation of buried organic matter, quality control of construction materials, site management and production of the remediation report. Several adjustments were necessary during the project, particularly to adapt to the variability of wood residues and the accidental discovery of old contaminated structures. This project, carried out in a demanding technical context, ensured the safety of workers and rehabilitated a site that is strategic for the city’s economic development.
Driven by our values of technical excellence, proximity to clients and entrepreneurial spirit, we are more than ever determined to be a company that is useful to the world and to people, and that contributes to have a positive impact on the environment and society.
