To make its music school an example of a sustainable, carbon-neutral building, the Sherbrooke University undertook a complete renovation incorporating advanced energy-efficient solutions. In addition to modernizing the envelope, fenestration and electromechanical systems, the project included a geothermal system that redistributes energy with other pavilions on campus, ensuring energy optimization while reducing the carbon footprint.

Artelia supported the project by optimizing the plans, commissioning the electromechanical systems and designing a high-performance geothermal system. With geothermal wells and innovative control sequences, the music school now benefits from heating, cooling and humidification based entirely on renewable energy. This pioneering project was awarded first place in the ASHRAE Technology Awards, underlining our expertise in sustainable engineering.
