Optimize port infrastructure with tailor-made solutions aimed at greater efficiency, increased sustainability and adaptation to the challenges of each region.

Port infrastructure plays a central role in the economic development of regions and the fluidity of trade. For more than 50 years, Artelia has been working with port authorities in various regions of Quebec to support and accelerate their growth, while actively contributing to the development of local communities. We understand the importance of this infrastructure and work to maximize its efficiency and sustainability.

Our expertise covers a wide range of port types, from commercial, industrial, recreational ports, or more recently cruise ship terminals. We provide tailor-made solutions, adapted to the specific needs of each installation, while taking into account environmental and climatic challenges. Our support goes beyond simple infrastructure, also encompassing heavy industrial handling equipment, which is essential to ensure the fluidity of port operations.

In particular, we offer cutting-edge know-how for ore ports, having participated in several large-scale projects, such as those of Sept-Îles, Baie-Comeau, Port-Cartier, and Wabush. We work closely with port authorities as well as large private industrial clients for the development of robust and state-of-the-art port infrastructure. In addition, we have developed a unique expertise for ports located in remote, northern or seasonal regions, where winter conditions and the presence of ice impose particular challenges. With our in-depth knowledge of these environments, we are able to design tailored solutions, ensuring business continuity even in challenging conditions.

We are very proud to have been a key player in the port sector for 50 years. In particular, we have contributed to making the Port of Sept-Îles the second largest port in Canada and the main ore port in North America. We also supported Arcelor Mittal in the development of its port in Port-Cartier, which has become the largest private port in Canada
