Artelia obtient le statut de firme préférentielle pour Rio Tinto - IOC

We are pleased to announce that Artelia has been awarded preferred status as a supplier of engineering and environmental services to the mining company Rio Tinto – IOC, for a term of 5 to 7 years.

The mining industry is expanding worldwide, driven by growing demand for metals for green technologies and infrastructure. For Rio Tinto Mining Company – IOC, a leading North American producer and supplier of iron ore, this expansion means more engineering projects to increase production capacity and improve operational efficiency. Rio Tinto – IOC’s operations include a mine with five operating pits, a concentrator, a SM-2 hydroelectric power station and a pellet plant located in Labrador City, as well as a 418 km wholly-owned railroad linking their Labrador operations to their own port terminal located in Sept-Îles. Our teams will therefore have the opportunity to work on the mine, railroad and port projects, and the expertise of each of our vice-presidencies could potentially be called upon.

Future projects will include our services in :

  • Engineering, design and project management
  • Construction management
  • On-site engineering and administration
  • Commissioning
  • Planning and programming
  • Estimating
  • Project control
  • Environmental services
  • Water management and treatment

Beyond the technical challenges, this recognition reinforces our approach based on proximity, listening to communities and our commitment to working closely with local partners, including Innu communities. In particular, we are collaborating with KATAK, a firm directly integrated into our teams, for data acquisition activities and specialized field surveys.

We are proud to contribute to large-scale projects that not only shape the mining industry of tomorrow, but are also part of a vision that respects the environment and community values.
