An EPC project for optimum energy production.

The Sturgeon Falls hydroelectric power station is an important asset for the town of West Nipissing in Ontario, and was in need of major intervention to ensure its continued operation. Built in 1912, it was powered by 6 horizontal turbines, 3 of which had reached the end of their service life, and needed to be repowered.

Our teams were therefore commissioned to renovate the plant. Thanks to a technically, environmentally and economically efficient solution in an innovative EPC structure, the project increased power generation and production capacity, reduced operations and maintenance, and had a low environmental impact.

Our innovative Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) model enabled us to intervene quickly and efficiently to complete this fast-track project, where design was carried out in parallel with construction, and within a 15-month completion schedule. We also ensured minimal impact on plant operation, with no downtime.
