As part of the safety management of hydraulic infrastructures, the Paton and Memphrémagog dams, which are classified as high consequence according to current regulatory criteria, underwent an in-depth safety assessment. These structures on the Magog River, built in 1926 and 1920 respectively, presented specific challenges related to their design and foundation. The Paton dam is a concrete gravity dam, while the Memphrémagog dam features a complex structure combining spillway, hydroelectric power station and dike founded on dense glacial till.
Our team was commissioned to carry out detailed inspections and assess the design, stability and behavior of the dams in accordance with the Règlement sur la sécurité des barrages. Services included analysis of hydrological inputs, review of impounded water management plans, and underwater inspections in collaboration with diving specialists. This work, incorporating precise technical data and adapted solutions, ensured the long-term viability of these strategic infrastructures for water management on the Magog River, as well as hydroelectric production for the city of Sherbrooke, while meeting the most stringent safety standards.
Driven by our values of technical excellence, proximity to clients and entrepreneurial spirit, we are more than ever determined to be a company that is useful to the world and to people, and that contributes to have a positive impact on the environment and society.
