This extensive experience gives Artelia expertise that has earned it the renewed trust of the City of Montreal.

Our Urban Infrastructures – Construction – Montreal team has been awarded a major 60-month framework agreement to manage and supervise work on three of its road resurfacing and road infrastructure maintenance programs. Our Traffic Maintenance and Impact Management experts will also be involved in this framework contract.

Road conditions are a source of frustration for Montrealers who drive on the more than 4,000 kilometers of roads maintained by the city and its boroughs. There are two main reasons for the wear and tear on our roads: freezing and thawing episodes, and the presence of numerous trucks. To rapidly improve the overall condition of Montreal’s road network, the City created the Programme complémentaire de planage-repêtement (PCPR) and the Programme de réhabilitation des chaussées par planage-repêtement (PRCPR) some ten years ago. These programs add between 7 and 12 years to road life, a medium-term vision aimed at making up for the maintenance deficit accumulated over the last few decades.

The City has also created the Programme de maintien des infrastructures routières (PMIR), which is designed to carry out one-off maintenance on road infrastructures such as bus stops, levelling and resurfacing bicycle paths, repairing active cracks, adjusting catch basins and repairing guardrails.

It is in this context that we have been awarded the framework contract for the 2025 to 2027 programs, with the possibility of extension for a maximum of 5 years. Generally speaking, the services offered by Artelia can be summed up in 4 parts, contract management and coordination, worksite supervision, traffic maintenance and impact management and worksite communications.

Renewed trust in our services

Since 2015, Artelia has assisted monitoring teams during PCPR, PRCPR and PMIR work covering more than 800 street sections in 36 boroughs. This vast experience gives Artelia exceptional expertise and skills, earning it the renewed trust of the City of Montreal with this new mandate.

Congratulations to our teams on this major project, which will help to mitigate the deterioration of road infrastructure and improve the overall condition of pavements in Montreal over the medium term.
